Hey it’s Julianne Murray and I’m here for our Murray Monday Minute.
Last week I told you we had 5 weeks to go, obviously we’re at 4 weeks now, and that I was going to give you the top 5 things that you needed to know before you vote on November 8th.
Last week it was deadlines related to absentee voting and making sure you knew where your polling place was.
Absentee voting, there are deadlines associated with it. Big news break: you can now only register until October 15th. So you have a few more days before you can register because Same-day Registration was found to be unconstitutional. You can no longer Vote-by-Mail, also found to be unconstitutional.
So, what’s the 4th thing?
The 4th thing is: it’s time to do due diligence about your candidates.
You need to do some research, get into the Department of Elections1 site - they actually have links to the different candidates2 and you can go to their websites.
Don’t just take somebody else’s word for it - you actually need to do research on your candidates3, find out who you like, find out ideologically who matches you. Don’t just assume because of their party that they are a certain way, don’t worry about that. You need to find out yourself, and you need to be an informed voter.
That’s the 4th thing - it’s time to do that due diligence and figure out who your candidates are so that you’re ready when you go to vote on November 8th. Like your life depends on it - because it does.
Told you I was going to be fearless - I think I have demonstrated I am fearless.
Fearless out.
